Not draining Usually a blocked pump filter, a kinked drain hose or a drain pump that has failed. We clear what can be cleared and replace what can’t.
Won’t spin, or spins weakly Often worn carbon brushes, a slipping drive belt, a motor fault or the machine detecting an unbalanced load. We test each in turn rather than guessing.
Leaking onto the floor Torn door seals, cracked detergent drawers, loose hoses and split sump hoses are the usual suspects. We trace the leak to its source before fitting anything.
Banging or rumbling on spin Rumbling points to worn drum bearings; banging can mean broken suspension or shock absorbers. We’ll tell you whether it’s worth doing.
Door won’t open or lock A faulty door interlock or broken handle mechanism can leave washing trapped inside. We release it safely and replace the faulty part.
Not heating or not filling Cold washes point to a heating element or temperature sensor; slow or no filling to an inlet valve or pressure switch.
Trips the electrics A machine that trips your fuse box usually has an earth fault, often in the heating element. Leave it switched off at the wall until it has been tested.
Error codes We read the code, run the machine’s own diagnostic programme where it has one and confirm the fault with proper testing.
